Immediate Post-Operative Care
Your tooth and surrounding area may be tender for a few days. This is normal.
Take prescribed pain medication as directed.
Avoid chewing on the treated tooth until the permanent restoration is placed.
Oral Hygiene
Continue brushing and flossing normally, but be gentle around the treated area.
You may rinse with warm salt water if the area feels tender.
Temporary Filling
A temporary filling has been placed. Avoid hard or sticky foods on that side.
The temporary filling may wear down over time—this is normal.
Follow-up
It's important to return for your permanent restoration (crown or filling) as scheduled.
The tooth is more fragile after root canal treatment and needs protection.
When to Call
Severe pain or swelling
The temporary filling falls out
A visible pimple on the gums near the treated tooth
Persistent discomfort beyond a few days
